Judy Cowper

Judy Cowper's chief interest is in stylised figurative work involving the study of movement and body language in human and horse form.
She has worked in a variety of media, but her favourite is wax which is then cast in bronze or bronze resin. .
Her work varies from near life-size pieces suitable for a garden setting to small decorative pieces.
She has exhibited with a group of sculptors at some of the London Art Fairs and at a gallery on the South Bank.
She completed a commission in Zambia for a bronze plaque to commemorate the 150 years since David Livingstone found The Victoria Falls and it was unveiled by Ranulph Fiennes'. She has also exhibited with galleries in Oxford, the Home Counties and Yorkshire.
She is a member of The Bucks Art Society and exhibited with them bi-annually. She takes part in The Bucks Visual Image Group's Open Studios, exhibiting in her own home every summer.
Having initially studied photography, her interest in painting and figure drawing developed into a great love of sculpture. She studied at the Open College of Art and then joined a sculpture workshop at Amersham College, later working with a group of sculptors in Bicester.
She finds that her style of figurative work is always developing. I enjoy exploring the lines in the figure or drapery to create an atmosphere of elegance or movement. She also enjoys working on groups of figures or animals and find that the challenge of relating the parts to each other can be very rewarding.
Her sculptures are cast in editions of 10 and the prices, which vary from £125- £2,000, are available on application. If you are interested in purchasing one, or you have any questions, please feel free to contact her.
