As a self-taught kinetic sculptor, I have cultivated a unique artistic vision that is deeply rooted in my background in manufacturing. This combination of practical experience and creative passion allows me to approach the design and construction of my sculptures with a meticulous attention to detail. My primary medium is welded stainless steel, a material I have chosen deliberately due to its durability and resilience. Stainless steel not only ensures that my sculptures can withstand the test of time but also allows me to create pieces that maintain their aesthetic appeal through various environmental conditions. I find great joy in crafting sculptures that are not only visually striking but also enduring, embodying a sense of permanence in an ever-changing world. Kinetic art, a genre that fascinates me, is characterised by its movement and interaction with the surrounding environment. While my sculptures possess an inherent beauty even when they are stationary, they truly come alive when influenced by the elements, particularly the wind and sunlight. The gentle breezes can set my sculptures into motion, creating a dynamic interplay of shadows and reflections that adds a captivating layer to their visual experience. This movement transforms the sculptures from mere static objects into living entities that engage with their surroundings, inviting viewers to appreciate the subtleties of motion and light. In my work, I strive to evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity. Each piece is not just a sculpture; it is an invitation to explore the relationship between art and nature. The interplay of kinetic elements encourages observers to contemplate the beauty of motion and the ephemeral qualities of life. I am constantly experimenting with different designs and mechanisms, seeking to push the boundaries of what kinetic art can be. My goal is to create sculptures that not only enhance the spaces they inhabit but also inspire reflection and dialogue among those who encounter them. Through my art, I aim to connect people with the beauty of movement and the enduring nature of well-crafted materials, fostering an appreciation for both the artistic process and the natural world.
