Cheryl Gould
Cheryl Gould studied at Harrow School of Art & trained at Kingston Polytechnic where she gained B.A.Hons., Fine art/sculpture .Since then she has exhibited widely; gained a silver trophy for sculpture at the 1st Malta Biennale. Her work features in private and public collections.
She is an elected member of the Royal Society of Sculptors & current President of Harrow Art Society.
As a longstanding Tutor for life/figure drawing she enjoys organising themed art workshops, and she still runs regular evening life classes online.
She gains inspiration from the human figure. It is integral to her work: She is passionate about life drawings; they become inspirations for her sculpture.
Medieval Jesters often feature in her work. They are threaded to her belief that comedy and tragedy can become unified. The Jester is simultaneously a Fool and a Sage. Myths, magic and mystery, all things theatrical, with movement, music and dance are also recurring themes creating sparks for future work.
She works in her garden studio with a variety of materials, and sizes of her sculptures vary from handheld to life size.
Among her commissions is a cold cast aluminum 5' Holocaust Memorial.
