Jenny Pickford

Jenny Pickford is a contemporary artist blacksmith designing and making unique sculptures, water features and architectural ironwork. Highly regarded as one of the United Kingdom's leading female blacksmith artists, Jenny's vision and energy is ceaseless. Her fusion of traditional crafts with newer technologies evolved following her fine art studies in Belfast. A single blacksmithing workshop lit a spark that led to a further three years studying blacksmithing at Hereford College, graduating in 2002.
Jenny breaks the rules of convention. Her determination and strength challenge the heritage of blacksmithing and glass blowing, giving it a feminine and sensual perspective inspired by the spirit of nature. Her designs possess a unique drama, yet work in totally harmony with their surroundings.
Jenny says, "I strive to reflect the contrast of strength and danger versus fragility and beauty in a way that uplifts the soul."
Jenny works from her forge in rural Herefordshire, but her sculptural and architectural designs are exhibited at Galleries and shows both in the UK and internationally. She has exhibited at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Flower Shows since 2003, and also at international events such as the Chicago Flower Show in 2012. Her designs can be seen worldwide, with clients in Australia, USA, China and throughout Europe.
